CASA de SoLA is looking for volunteers

LAFAYETTE, LA — This is a time for many of us to choose our New Year’s resolutions. This year, choose a resolution that creates both personal and community betterment. Volunteer! CASA of SoLA is looking for new volunteers to help us serve the nearly 4,000 foster children in Louisiana. CASA volunteers are court-appointed special advocates who are appointed by a judge to represent a child’s best interests in court.

“The judicial community cannot do this work alone. We need community support. CASA advocates are the most effective community representatives our country has ever created. – Judge Leonard Edwards.

CASA volunteers are different because we remain assigned to the child’s file throughout its duration. Although the child may have multiple lawyers, social workers, therapists, and foster care throughout the case, they will only have one CASA volunteer. By being this consistent and caring adult, CASA volunteers have been the certainty in uncertain times for these children.

CASA of SoLA represents 64 children in the South Louisiana community. Today more than ever, we need you. Change a child’s story in 2022 by becoming a CASA volunteer with CASA from SoLA. Learn more at casaofsola.org.
