HODINKEE finally caught up with musician and watch collector, Ed Sheeran, for a long chat with founder Ben Clymer.
The 48 minute video, HODINKEE Radio Presents: The Collector’s Edition with Ben Clymerdetails Sheeran’s purchase history, covering everything from his first watch to being paid for playing a Bat Mitzvah with a Patek Philippe 5726.
The video is peppered with surprising insights into Sheeran’s position as a collector and celebrity, including the fact that he spent years on a waiting list for a Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe 5711.
The video is the first in a new series, The Collector’s Edition, from HODINKEE that “aims to provide listeners with an insight into the art of collecting.”
“Ed is one of the most respected watch collectors today and I’m honored to have him as my first guest,” says Clymer. “Our relationship grew out of our shared passion for timepieces, and it was a real pleasure to be able to sit down to discuss it in depth. Ed is not only insightful but entertaining. And as listeners progress through the episode, they’ll not only get a taste of what collecting is all about, but also discover some fun facts along the way. We can’t wait for you to listen.
