K-State Places 292 on Big 12 Fall 2021 Commissioner’s Honor Roll

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State student-athletes had a strong fall semester in the classroom as a total of 292 Wildcat student-athletes were named to the Big 12 Fall 2021 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in an announcement. from the league office. The conference recognizes all student-athletes from its member institutions during each semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The 292 student-athletes to earn this honor marks the 27th consecutive semester with an honor roll in which K-State has placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll. The 292 student-athletes on the Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll bring K-State’s total for the past three semesters to 892 recipients.

Of the 292 K-State student-athletes who earned the citation for academic excellence, 83 recorded a GPA of 4.0 in the fall semester.

The football and rowing teams led all Wildcat sports teams with 7 and 57 winners, respectively, on the Fall 2021 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Other student-athletes on the honor roll include : men’s track and field/cross-country (35), women’s track and field/cross-country (34), soccer (27), baseball (24), volleyball (9), women’s basketball (9), tennis (8), women’s golf (8), men’s basketball (5) and men’s golf (2).

K-State, a Tier 1 Carnegie Foundation institution, has had an outstanding start to the 2021-22 academic year by individual student-athletes and by its teams.

The football program has been honored this season by United Soccer Coaches with its third team academic award for classroom work.

To date, K-State student-athletes have been recognized by the conference with 74 Academic All-Big 12 recipients.

Brookelynn Entz of the football program was named to the College of America (CoSIDA) Directors of Sports Information All-America Third Team Academic All-America, while Landry Weber and Deuce Vaughn of football and Ayoka Lee of women’s basketball were named to the first CoSIDA All-District VII Academic Team. .

K-State Athletics saw 32 student-athletes receive their diplomas at the December 2021 graduation ceremonies at Bramlage Coliseum, with 18 earning their undergraduate degrees while the remaining 14 earned graduate degrees, a second undergraduate degree or master’s certificate.

K-State ranks among the top in the league in academic achievement as it continues to set a national standard in terms of RPA, as all programs are currently well above the required NCAA standard.
