Literacy volunteers from the Montachusett region elected treasurer – Sentinel et Entreprise


FITCHBURG – Literacy volunteers in the Montachusett area have appointed Anne Ndunda as the organization’s treasurer, according to an announcement by the literacy group.

In this role, Ndunda will oversee day-to-day financial operations, compliance with grant requirements as well as compliance with federal and state tax requirements. She will also sit on the executive committee of the board of directors, participating in the strategic planning and development of the board of directors of the not-for-profit organization.

Ndunda brings both experience and expertise to her new role. She is currently the Director of Finance / Controller at Waltham Committee Inc., a non-profit organization that provides housing, employment and daytime support to people with disabilities.

She obtained a Masters of Management (Finance and IT) from Lesley University, Cambridge and an Undergraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Communication from Daystar University, Nairobi, Kenya.

She is a member of the National Society of Accountants and of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Ndunda and her family live in Leominster.

Literacy Volunteers of the Montachusett Area offers free one-on-one tutoring to adults living in the Montachusett area who wish to improve their English literacy skills. Trained volunteers also lead conversation circles and teach citizenship preparation classes.
