Missouri S&T – News & Events – Forbes Ranks S&T’s Online Psychology Masters Program in Top 10

Missouri S&T’s online master’s program in psychological sciences recently earned the highest ranking from the Forbes Advisor website.

The finance-focused Forbes advisor, dedicated to helping consumers make the best financial choices for their individual lives, recently selected Missouri S&T as one of its top 10 “Best Online Psychology Masters Degrees.”

Forbes Advisor rated 45 colleges and universities that offer online programs in the United States using 17 data points in the categories of credibility (including accreditation and nonprofit status), affordability, results of students, student experience and the cost of application fees. Specific characteristics that were considered in each category included accreditation, nonprofit status, average price per year, financial aid offers, graduation rate of Pell Grant recipients , graduation rate and transfer rate.

“I’m not surprised that our master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology is ranked so highly,” says Dr. Clair Reynolds Kueny, acting director and associate professor of psychological sciences at S&T. “S&T students receive a solid grounding in psychology, as well as statistics and research methods. Our program develops individuals who understand the critical role humans play in organizational success as well as how to use human capital and people analytics to advance organizational effectiveness and strategy, as well as development and employee support.

Missouri S&T’s online master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology emphasizes the application of psychological science to improve the performance and well-being of people in organizations. IO psychologists develop people assessments for job selection and placement, effective training programs, organizational development strategies, performance measurement, and ways to promote quality of work life.
