Rockaway High School Student Accepted Into 2023 Scholarship Program – QNS.com

Conare Lucas, a student at the Channel View School for Research, was one of 81 high school students accepted into CollegeAdvisor.com’s 2023 scholarship program. Lucas was accepted into the program which had over 500 applicants from all over the world.

The CollegeAdvisor.com Scholars Program offers free, comprehensive admissions support to high school students like Lucas who have demonstrated financial need and are looking to further their education. More than half of the 2023 Scholars are first-generation college applicants or from historically underrepresented communities. About 80% of 2023 scholarship recipients identify as minority students.

“I feel like I’m finally ready to grow and bond,” Lucas said. “I am very grateful that [the CollegeAdvisor.com Scholars Program] choose me.”

Some of the universities Lucas is currently planning to attend include SUNY Binghamton University, University of Central Florida, Temple University, Texas A&M University, and Auburn University. He intends to study either zoology, microbiology or environmental science.

Thanks in large part to the CollegeAdvisor.com Scholars program, 81% of last year’s recipients were able to get into at least one of their top three college choices.

Since its inception in 2019, more than 200 CollegeAdvisor.com Scholars have benefited from the program. Participation in this program has increased year over year, with a 125% increase in the number of applicants year over year.

A dedicated and highly trained admissions coach is associated with each scholar to provide one-on-one guidance and personalized support through all stages of the admissions process. The coach works with the scholarship recipient to develop essays, prepare for interviews, finalize their college lists, and attend specialized webinars and workshops designed to guide them through each application stage.

“We know that personalized college counseling and admissions support can have a direct impact on students’ college applications,” said CollegeAdvisor.com founder Brian Mitchell. “We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to continue their education regardless of their financial situation and we will continue to donate these services to students who cannot afford them so that every student has the same opportunity. to go to his dream school.”

CollegeAdvisor.com provides affordable and accessible college admissions advice and online tools and support to help students through the college application process. The organization has donated over $500,000 in student services through its giving programs, including the Scholars Program.

The application period for the 2024 CollegeAdvisor.com Scholarship Program is expected to begin on June 1, 2023.

Lucas also received another $500 BigFuture scholarship for building and strengthening a roster of colleges, practicing the SAT, exploring scholarships, completing the free application for federal student aid ( FAFSA) and college application. As he prepares to enter his senior year of high school, Lucas said he still plans to apply for more scholarships as he prepares to choose which college to attend.
