Twitch Co-Founder Launches Fractal, New Marketplace for NFT Games
SAN FRANCISCO, December 30, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Twitch Co-Founder Justin Kan launched Fractal today its new market for NFT games. The company was launched with a list of top partner blockchain games, including Auroire, Cave world, Genopets, Mini Royale, Heroes of Nyan, Panzerdogs, Portals, Photo finish, Solchicks, City of Syn, The sandbox, and more. These titles collectively market billions of NFT value in their games. Players on Fractal will be able to purchase game NFTs for partner games directly from studios or in the resale market from other players.
NFTs are the latest trend in digital assets: digital records of ownership of virtual objects stored on a public blockchain. Many new game companies are generating revenue to fund the development of their games by pre-selling NFTs that have in-game value to players. Fractal is the first digital marketplace to focus on NFT games. Fractal is founded by industry veterans and serial entrepreneurs in games and e-commerce, including Justin kan, who was previously a co-founder of Twitch.
“Players will now own their in-game assets and can take them with them wherever they go,” said Justin kan, co-founder of Fractal. “Sustainable digital assets through NFTs are the future of gaming. We have partnered with some of the most innovative game companies in the Solana blockchain to drive that future forward. “
“We have seen over 100,000 community members join our Discord server in the 10 days since we announced Fractal, making Fractal one of the fastest growing crypto communities,” Kan said. “Players are excited about blockchain games and we are excited about all the new experiences that will be made possible by them.”
Fractal went live on the Solana blockchain today, and players were immediately able to start trading in-game assets by connecting a crypto wallet such as Phantom. As a reward for their early membership in the community, the first 100,000 members will soon receive their own unique Fractal NFT. These NFTs will unlock future benefits for the NFT holder within the Fractal community and potentially in third party games.
“Fractal is a player-created marketplace for gamers. We believe it can help bring new audiences to NFTs and the possibilities offered by our open play metaverse, so we’re happy to see that users will soon be able to trade, sell their virtual LANDS NFT and gaming assets on Fractal, ”said Sebastien borget, Co-founder and COO of The sandbox.
“We are really excited to be working with Fractal,” said Albert Chen, co-founder and CEO of Genopets. “We believe their gaming-focused NFT market will bring innovative features that will help us expand the gaming experience to win over gamers around the world.”
